How-do-you-do Rhodri, 1) If its not opened and not labled as a Gun AND you are lucky, they are just working out the VAT/duty to charge you. 2) They may see information technology is a Gun and detain it. You will then recive a "Find of detention for imported goods" by post from the Good luck

Hello Rhodri I've had the same event, only received my parcel subsequently three or 4 days at Customs. Once the packet's tracked every bit leaving Customs and on information technology's manner to the Delivery Depot, you'll receive a carte du jour through the mail service from the Courier (or a alphabetic character in the mail) asking for the VAT, Duty and their Admin Charges to be paid before they'll deliver. JohnnyV has explained the other possibilities so at that place'south no need to echo them. Merely brand sure you've got your Re-enactor Grouping or Airsoft Skirmish site details prepare as Customs may well ask for them all if they've identified your parcel every bit a Replica Gun. _________________ Hobby collector of Replica model guns and Militaria.

Allow us know how you get on. The first time that I imported it was held past customs for nigh three weeks earlier it was cleared. At present they seem to articulate much faster. A tip that someone gave to me with reguards to guns and importing, information technology will become detained by customs, and then you will get charged for any duty as it wont slip through. Patently, and I say that as I have yet to endeavour this myself, merely apparently you can pay the duty on the item before it arrives if you know the value, and therefor avoid the £xi.00 charge that parcelforce utilise for the privaledge of paying it on your behalf. Next time I import I will definately try this. It will likewise no incertitude speed up the customs clearence, and you volition not have to wait the extra ii days or so while parcelforce send you the bill of fare to tell you how much you need to pay them earlier they deliver your parcel.

I accept had these issues with imports from the U.s.a. and HK . I imported a Makarov metal model from the US purely equally local shops don,t stock them ,and that they toll less than One-half Britain prices !! Even with duties paid I reckoned I could not lose . It got stopped at community and later lengthy and time consuming communications the bottom line was I would have to go to court and Show that my detail was UK legal !! If I won - I got my gun - minus Court / Solicitor costs . If I lost then I got to pay their Court fees every bit well equally mine !!!!!! Prior to the VCR I imported stuff all the fourth dimension . Now its all over . To exercise then is to be taking a very large risk . I shall not be doing so again . Carl.
